    FCB Foundation is a social, humanitarian, charitable and non-profit establishment dedicated to seeing improvement in the lives of the poor and downtrodden in Kenya. In addition to providing help on its own, the Foundation also co-ordinates with other charity organizations working in the country to assist them in carrying out their humane activities in the best possible manner.

    FCB is “Driven by Ethics” and is indeed cognizant and appreciative of the support we have received from across all communities in Kenya; the Bank has therefore structured FCB Foundation in a manner that expresses our gratitude to these communities and play a role in uplifting the educational needs of Kenyans.

    Our History

    First Community Bank officially launched FCB Foundation on 29th October 2015 at the Aga Khan Diamond Jubilee Hall in Mombasa. The event was attended by the Board of Directors, members of the executive management and staff of both Kizingo and Digo Road branches. The guest of honour was the Chief Kadhi Sheikh Ahmed Muhdhar.

    Our Philosophies

    • Promote the welfare of children in need due to poverty, disease or social injustice in addition to bring about a positive change in the social structure of the society for a better tomorrow. The Foundation visualizes itself a wider role to play in the meaningful and more purposeful implementation of its objectives.
    • Helping Orphanages/Destitute Homes.
    • Providing financial assistance to the needy students to pursue their education in Universities and colleges.
    • Providing medical assistance to the needy and poor.

    • Supporting orphanages, schools or other Educational institutions for children/young people. Such institutions must be run and managed in accordance recognized ethical principles, without any privilege or discrimination with regard to religion, caste or creed.
    • Provision of assistance to children in need, made available through individuals responsible for such children, e.g. Heads of Schools/ Institutions, Government authorities.
    • It seeks participation and help from like-minded people/organizations in creating greater base for the Foundation to give a true shape and substance to the objectives envisaged.

    HOW TO APPLY

    Application

    The foundation has put in place generic application procedures which are transparent, effective and efficient. Application are received once a year for students who are joining secondary schools.

    Screening Process

    All applications or projects are screened to establish if they fall under the foundation’s programs and meet the eligibility criteria set from time to time. Any applications that are outside the scope of the foundation’s programs or which do not meet the set eligibility criteria or achieve the desirable score are declined.
