Our Journey
The bank received its formal approval from the Central Bank of Kenya on May 29th 2007 thereby, opening the door for Shari’ah Compliant banking not only in Kenya, but indeed in the entire East and Central African region.
The inception and birth of FCB began when Mr. Adam (MD) initiated correspondence with external parties more than two decades ago about his intention to introduce Islamic Banking to Kenya. At FCB, we are proud of our journey and we would like to share the same with the world. Through the following excerpts, we share with you how we envisioned and worked for the coming of Islamic banking to Kenya.
